So of course, last week was very interesting, you can read about it a few posts below this. The days continue to throw me curveballs. This week has included my first jury duty ever, an incredibly interesting experience, believe it or not. While i can't really talk about it yet, I can say that getting paid to attend a civics class (even at $10 a day) is far more rewarding than i thought it could have been. Next we have the random phone message today from an old co-worker of mine, asking if I'd heard the news on another old co-worker. She didn't elaborate in the message so i googled it.

Here is what I found.

Will was a good man. A jazz fanatic with untold vinyl riches (his collection at one time easily greater than 20,000 records!) and we often listened to Mingus over glasses of merlot. His presence in the world will be missed.

*throws on Black Saint and Sinner Lady and raises a glass*

this past week has been interesting as amy and i have caught a feral mother cat and her three kittens. trapping them was easy, as was getting the mother fixed. this morning though, while we were grabbing our latte and americano, two of the kittens escaped their cage and hid in the corner of the bedroom. donning leather gloves, i went about the task of putting them back in the cage. as cute as kittens are, they make quite heinous sounds when a) wild and b) cornered, and i can only imagine what our mousey, hyper-private neighbors were thinking as the howls of kitten capture emanated from the window. thankfully kittens have a built in handle and once i got hold of the nape of their neck it was easy to get them where i wanted. now we have the fun(!?) task of socializing them and subsequently giving them away. w00t. speaking of, if any of you seattle-ites are looking for kittens and see this as a prime opportunity, give me a shout and you can come visit them. heh.
